OUGD603 / Extended Practice - Florist Branding: The Brief.

OUGD603.
FLORIST BRANDING.

THE BRIEF.

After looking back at the current projects I have and my portfolio, and comparing this to the jobs/ studios I want to aim towards, I think that the last project I should take on should be a large branding brief. At the start of the year I pitched the idea to Brand a luxury floristry shop. I have, throughout the year taken on a range of different branding and packaging projects, but i have not yet done anything luxury and therefore believe that this is something missing from my portfolio.

The Brief:

Create a brand presence for luxury Florists Beckett Beccari, a traditional and independent florist based In Chester that has been passed from generation to generation for the past 120 years. The florist has built up a great status, and specialise in special event flowers as well as fulfilling the individual orders. Therefore due to the nature of the florists and its location I have assumed that the Florist would more than likely serve people in their 30's and upwards, whom have a disposable income to spend on Flowers from such a store instead of other places such as supermarkets, or even, lower priced florists.

After reviewing the brief I created at the start of the year I feel that the considerations are still the same - Mostly I will need to research into Luxury branding as this is where my lack of knowledge comes from, to distinguish where the differences are, and what choices in terms of stock, design, materials etc makes a brand Luxury.

What brand elements would I like to create?

I want to create a range of printed collateral for the florists spanning from the simpler elements such as invoice designs for customers to environmental design including shop front and more physical and tactile pieces such as tissue paper and flower carriers. However production of elements will depend on time constraints.

- Logo
- Shop front / Signage
- Business cards
- Message cards
- Invoice.
- Tissue paper.
- Flower carrier.
